My Story
Bonjour! My name is Safia Higham and I live in Chipstead, Surrey. I grew up in the Paris suburbs with a Moroccan dad, a Finnish mum and two brothers. Coming from a non French family, I have always enjoyed travelling and speaking other languages.
I have been living in the UK since 1997 straight after graduating in France with a BA in International Business. Initially, I worked in Telecoms and Financial Sales in the City for thirteen years. In 2013, I decided to start a new career in education to give me the flexibility to look after my three children. I taught French at Reedham Park School in Purley from Reception to Year 6 for over seven years and then slowly evolved into private tutoring in 2015. I enjoyed teaching French in after school clubs as well as secondary school pupils and adults.
I am passionate about languages as I learnt German, Spanish and Japanese as a younger adult. I consider myself very hard working, enthusiastic, patient and professional.
My focus now is with KS3-KS4 pupils (Year 7 to Year 11) with the aim to reach their maximum potential for GCSE as well as bringing enjoyment and confidence to adults in their ability to converse in French.
I look forward to being part of your French journey! Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or need further information. I would be delighted to help!
Merci et à bientôt!
